The Joint Educational Trust (usually known as JET) is a UK charity which helps children who have suffered seriously at home or at school, or are at risk in some way. JET enables these children to attend independent boarding or day schools, or state boarding schools, where they have a real chance of making a new start.
To receive support, a JET child should satisfy 3 criteria. JET children must:
- be between 7 and 13 years old
- have suffered recent tragedy or trauma or be at risk in some way and
- be from families who cannot meet the cost of such education unaided
